Spastic
colitis, also known as irritable bowel syndrome or IBS, is
the most common form of colitis. The symptoms of IBS are usually
abdominal pain or discomfort, altered defecation and shape of the
stool, discharge of mucus, bloating or abdominal distention.
Abdominal pain, which affects the small and large bowel and the
pelvic floor, is often accompanied by constipation and diarrhea.
Some intestinal symptoms may be associated with burning in mouth,
bitter and unpleasant taste of blood, nausea, early satiety and
bloating. They are often associated with urgency to urinate and a
difficult or incomplete emptying of the bladder. Among the general
problems can be headache, muscle and tendon pain, symptoms of
anxiety and hypochondriasis. The IBS predominantly psychosomatic in

Ulcerative colitis, also known as Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of colon. The main symptoms are abdominal pain and diarrhea, often mixed with blood and mucous loss accompanied by severe cramping and then giving up with the evacuation. Then there are fatigue, weight loss and night sweats. When the inflammatory process remains in the rectum, the patient feels a slight bleeding and tenesmus, which is a painful spasm of the anus with a feeling of urgent need to defecate.
Ulcerative colitis affects only the outer layers of the intestinal and does not extend to those below, occurs in a localized way in the large intestine and is often accompanied by fever.
The causes of ulcerative colitis are still mysterious, but it is believed that inflammation is manifested usually as a result of higher states of psychological tension and elegant theories in immune and inheritance.
