Proctitis
Proctitis is a chronic or
acute inflammatory process that affects the intestine and the
rectum. The inflammation can occour through a load of injuries at
the anal canal, sexually transmitted diseases (such as Chlamydia,
genital herpes, syphilis and gonorrhea) and inflammatory bowel
disease (ulcerative colitis and Crhon Disease).Proctitis is usually seen with pain, rectal tenesmus (the continous stimulus to defecate, often combined with blood in stools), itching, liquid stools with mucus membranes, anal and perianal lesions in different quantities and ratio.
The defecation is painful and sometimes the urination as well. The origen of nonspecific proctitis, however, is unknown. An example of these is ulcerative proctitis, often accompanied by fever. The forms of bacteria are usually treated with antibiotic therapy, whereas in ulcerative proctitis and suppositories are used clisterini beggars. As a result of complications, surgical intervention is necessary.

The treatment consists of 2 weekly sessions of insufflation for 12 total sessions.
