Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoi
ds are a dilation or ecstasia of the venous network of the rectum and anus (which is called hemorrhoidal plexus).
The bloo
d vessels into the hemorrhoidal plexus, in fact, causes pathological phenomena such as inflammation or thrombosis and they are often bring on burning, pain, itching and bleeding. The venous pressure in the vessels of the rectum and anus can be caused by pregnancy, by chronic constipation or frequent heavy lifting. Other factors may contribuite: family history, obesity, lack of exercise or a diet low in fiber. The most common symptom of hemorrhoidal disease is the bleeding, followed by prolapse, by the losses of mucous membranes and finally by pain and anal itching.
There are two types of Hemorrhoids, internal or external, depending on their location. The internals ones develop inside the anal canal and they usually are painless, while the external ones appear as hard and painful bumps and they are formed below the juncture between the rectum and anus. Depending on seriousness, hemorrhoids are further classified into I (which are located inside the anal canal, they are painless and generally perceived by the subject just in case of bleeding), II (which are located inside the anal canal, they protrude outside with the defecation, but fall later in a spontaneous way), III (which permanently protrude outside the anal canal and they require a manual re-positioning to become part of the whole of the canal) and IV (it is not possible to reposition them inside the anal canal and mucosa is in contact with clothing). To treat hemorrhoids grade III and IV it is necessary to use techniques or ambulatory surgical treatments. Depending on the seriousness, pain, discomfort and itching may achieve very intense levels, making troubles in even the most trivial movements. Moreover, as the piles can not be considered a serious disease, they can be the cause of more serious complications (anemia, phlebitis, fissures, thrombosis).
