Herpes
Herpes simplex
, also called labial herpes,
is a viral infection of the skin caused by a genus of viruses
belonging to the group of herpes viruses and it consists of fever
blisters, usually around the lips, mouth and nostrils or in the
anogenital area. The vesicles are formed on red patches, they may
be preceded by fever or malaise with burning and
heat sensation. The vesicles may also occur in the pharynx and
urethra: in this case the patient feels a burning sensation and
extreme pain in passing urine. Herpes simplex can be episodic or
recurrent. Virus is able to reach ganglia of nervous system where
it is deposited and it remains throughout life and it can be
re-activated when certain factors occur (the lowering of the immune
system, excessive exposure to sunlight or cold, physical and mental
stress, gastrointestinal disorders, which can then lead to the
recurrence of infection. It is transmitted through the herpetic
vesicles, but also through saliva and blood.Oxygen-Ozone Therapy:
The treatment consists of 5 or 6 weekly sessions of Minor Autohaemotransfusion in alternate days.
Herpes zoster is a
skin disease caused by a genus of viruses belonging to the group of
herpes viruses that primarily affects adults and the elderly. This
is the same virus that causes chickenpox, which, after having
caused chickenpox, nests in the spinal ganglia and in certain
circumstances occurs again, resulting in herpes zoster. The skin
lesions caused by this type of herpes occur primarily in regions of
the intercostal nerves, branchial plexus, trigeminal and sciatic
nerve. They can provide various sensations, ranging from tingling
to burning pain, reaching the maximum extension in 3-4 days. The
rash is usually accompanied by malaise, fever, chills, headache and
upset stomach. They appear as clusters of blisters on reddened skin
areas, reminiscent of chickenpox, which are distributed along the
nerve. The occurrence of herpes zoster, generally spontaneous, can
be promoted by serious infections like meningitis and pneumonia,
disease of the central nervous system or from lowering
immunity.Shingles can be easily transmitted from person to person.
Oxygen-ozone therapy:
The treatment consists 6 everyday sessions of Minor Autohaemotransfusion.
