Osteoarrthritis
Arthrosis, also called
osteoarrthritis or degenerative joint disease, is a group of
mechanical abnormalities involving degradation of joints including
articular cartilage and subchondral bone that affects mainly
elderly people and, in particular, women. The joints most
frequently affected are the spine, hip, knee, fingers and
toes.Osteoarthritis may be primary form, widespread in many branches and it is predominantly genetic. The secondary form is rather more localized. It can also affects younger people and it is linked to various factors such as trauma, obesity, abnormalities of the lower limbs, details of the work.
There are two types of arthritis: the primitive, which affects a healthy joint, without any apparent cause, and the secondary, which occurs following trauma, infection, overuse or acquired and congenital deformities.
The most common symptom is the pain, which is accentuated by the movement and decreases with rest. When the disease is at advanced stages, the patient has a functional limitation quite debilitating, depending on the affected joint.
Oxygen-Ozone Therapy:
The treatment consists of 2 weekly sessions of local infiltration for 8 -12 total sessions.
