Rheumatoid arthritis
Rheumatoid
arthritis is a progressive autoimmune inflammatory disease, caused
by a reaction of the immune system, which hits the synovial system
and then the bones, causing deformity, instability and formation of
scar tissue within the joint. It also affects tendons, muscles,
handbags and other tissues. The root causes have not been
specifically defined yet. It is believed, however, that there is a
genetic predisposition to disease. The symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are: joint pain, swelling, warmth, stiffness and loss of mobility initially affecting the joints of the fingers, hands and feet. Rheumatoid arthritis affects people between 20 and 40 years and may have a long course, with long periods of remission, or it can have a rapid progression.
