Asthma
Asthma is o
ne of
the most common chronic respiratory deseases in the world. The
crisis caused by asthma are due to a sudden and prolonged
contraction of smooth muscle fibers of the bronchial tube, which
obstructs the passage of air in the bronchial lumen. The main
features of an asthma attack are the sudden difficulty in
breathing, combined with a sense of suffocation, breathlessness,
chest tightness and a feeling of lack of air. The crisis, caused by
bronchial responsiveness generated by inflammation itself can last
from several minutes to hours and can be resolved either
spontaneously or commonly appropriate treatment.Asthmatics have thus chronic inflammation of the respiratory track. Asthma attacks can not be traced to specific causes, but among them there are the exposure to tobacco smoke, environmental pollution, the presence of insects and animals, excessive humidity, the presence of early lung infection.
