Onychomycosis
Onichomycosis is an infection caused by fungus that affects
the nails, toes and hands. It can manifest itself as yellowish or
whitish spot under the tip nails or it may remain limited at the
nail itself. When the fungus (usually belonging to the group of
dermatophytes) spreads deeper under the nail, it may stain
and thicken nails and crumble along sides. Onychomycosis is
more common among the elderly, especially for the lower blood flow
and increased exposure to fungus. There are many factors that can
cause infection, such as excessive sweating, working in damp,
psoriasis, poor footwear that blocks perspiration and does not
absorb sweat, small lesions of the skin or the nails themselves,
the walking barefoot in public wet areas (such as pools and gyms),
or it may be caused by an infection already present, or by diseases
such as diabetes, circulatory disorders or immune system. The most
common symptoms are the nails as thick or, conversely, very brittle
nails and jagged, misshapen, dull or dark.
Oxygen-Ozone Therapy:
The treatment consists of 1 or 2 sessions of Major
Autohemotransfusion: the number of sessions is determined on the
needs of the patient or, depending on patient’s need and
doctor’s opinion, 1 or 2 weekly sessions with an oxygen-ozone
application bag: the number of sessions are determined on the
patient's need.
