Parkinson's disease
Parkinson's
disease is a chronic and progressive degeneration of neurons into
the central nervous system (in a part called ‘’black
substance), which contains dopamine, a neurotransmitter responsible
for controlling muscle movements. Parkinson disease usually occurs
after 50-60 years of age and it has a chronic progress. The main
symptoms of Parkinson's disease are tremor, or trembling in hands,
arms, legs, jaw, or head; the rigidity of the limbs and trunk;
bradykinesia, or slowness of movement; and finally the instability
position, balance or weakened. The symptoms of Parkinson's disease
are initially present in mild form and become more pronounced with
the time: the patient has increasing difficulty performing simple
actions, and even in speaking.The disease can be chronic if it persists for a long period of time, or progressive, when aggravated by the passage of time.
The causes of Parkinson's disease are still unknown, but it is believed that the disease resulting from genetic predisposition to the disease combined with other causes such as for example a head injury, exposure to environmental toxins or due to cerebral arteriosclerosis , especially in older patients.
