Venous Ulcers
Venous ulcer, also called
trophic ulcer or varicose ulcer, is a skin lesion that affects the
leg near the ankle, and is due to venous insufficiency of the lower
limbs, to sores, to varicose veins, to edema. It occurs more easily
in people with heart disease, hypertension or diabetes. The shape
of the lesion, usually round, oval or irregular, however, presents
a fund or purulent lardaceo edges and is often generated as a
result of trauma. Venous ulcer tends not to heal but to widen
gradually, while the skin around the ulcer becomes red and ankles
are often swollen . In the young usually venous ulcers can be
healed in a few weeks, while the elderly may persist for many
months or even years.Oxygen-Ozone Therapy:
The treatment consists of 2 weekly sessions of Major Autohemotransfusion for 12-20 total sessions or, depending on patient’s need and doctor’s opinion, 2 weekly sessions of local infiltration or, finally, depending on patient’s need and doctor’s opinion, 2 or 3 weekly sessions of Topical bags treatment with 12 total sessions.
