Cluster headache
The cluster
headache is one of the most painful types of headache which has its
origin in vascular disorders of the brain and it mainly occurs in
males, in age between 20 and 30. It is called "cluster" because the
attacks occur regularly and for a short period of time, daily at
the same time (usually early in the afternoon and evening), for
6-12 weeks and they are followed by periods of remission when the
headache attacks cease completely. The daily duration of attacks is
never more than three hours. The pain of cluster headache is felt
in and around the eye, so do not button, but intense and deep,
extending to the forehead, temple and cheek.One of the most common causes of cluster headache is a hypo-or hypertension or a head injury. Sometimes even climate changes, changes in lifestyle, such as work-related, or variations of temperature or time zone, can cause cluster headaches. Other causes may be poisoning bring on by excessive constipation or liver desease, followed by the abuse of alcohol, insomnia, excessive stress, hormonal or premenstrual disorders. The pain is also correlated to other symptoms such as lacrimation, rhinorrhea, conjunctival injection, sweating frontal swelling of the cheek and rhythm disturbances.
